Welcome to Junior Deputy Softball – Little Rock

We are excited to welcome families to the first season of Girls Softball at Junior Deputy in Little Rock! This new program is built to introduce young athletes to the game in a positive, supportive environment while laying a strong foundation for skill development, confidence, and a lifelong love of softball.

Introductory Girls Softball League (Ages 4–6)

Our 4–6 Girls Softball League is designed as a fun, welcoming introduction to the game for young athletes who are just beginning their softball journey. This instructional league focuses on learning the basics, building confidence, and developing a love for the sport in an encouraging, team-centered environment.

Players will learn fundamental skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, base running, and basic game awareness. Games are played using coach pitch, with a batting tee available when needed to ensure every player has the opportunity for success. Emphasis is placed on participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort rather than competition or scorekeeping.

This league is ideal for first-time players or those still developing foundational skills, with the primary goal of creating a fun and positive first experience in softball.

Developmental Girls Softball League (Ages 7–10)

Our 7–9 Girls Softball League builds upon the fundamentals taught in the introductory league while gradually increasing both skill development and competition. This league continues to emphasize teaching and growth while introducing more structured gameplay and situational awareness.

Players will refine core skills including throwing mechanics, catching, hitting consistency, base running, and defensive positioning. Games are primarily coach-pitch, with an increased focus on game rules, teamwork, and softball strategy. Scorekeeping and competitive elements are introduced at an age-appropriate level.

The goal of this league is to prepare players for the transition to kid-pitch softball in the following season, while still maintaining a fun, supportive environment that encourages confidence, effort, and sportsmanship.
